MIT Science & Technology Policy Bootcamp: January 28 - February 1, 2019
Apply now<https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSflrz_899SRdMat1K_QXMMRCTGoNfa1bcszbXA6oep-Ew_YVQ/viewform>!
❄ Deadline: Monday, December 10 @ 11:59pm ❄
Science and technology public policy shapes the education, research, and innovation system that is vital for economic growth and improvements in societal well-being. This five-day seminar<https://mitspi.squarespace.com/bootcamp/>, taught by previous MIT Washington, D.C. Office<http://dc.mit.edu/> Director Bill Bonvillian<https://www.bonvillian.org/>, will examine the policy decisions behind and the government’s role in the science and technology based innovation system. Given the challenges to future federal science support, this seminar will also aim to equip those planning careers in and around science and technology with the basic background for involvement in science policy-making.
• Undergraduate and graduate students from all schools are welcome.
• Enrollment is limited. Accepted students MUST commit to attend all sessions to earn a spot in the class.
• Class can be taken for credit or not for credit. Those participating in the MIT Graduate Certificate Program in Science, Technology, and Policy (http://web.mit.edu/stp) must take the IAP class for credit.
• This year, another separate, non-credit S&T Policy Bootcamp will be offered in Spring (over Spring Break). See the IAP application for details.
• Questions? Contact abajwa at mit.edu<mailto:abajwa at mit.edu>.
Organized by the MIT Science Policy Initiative<https://mitspi.squarespace.com/>
