Dear Students,
Pre-registration for summer 2018 and fall 2018-19 opens on WebSIS at 9AM on May 1st. The URL for pre-registration is http://web.mit.edu/registrar/reg/prereg.html. All continuing students are required to pre-register in order to maintain their student status. Information about deadlines is as follows:
Summer Term
If you plan to register for summer, you should pre-register by 5PM on Thursday, May 31st. Graduate students taking thesis or research credit should be sure to pre-register for the appropriate subject number; check with your department if you have questions.
Fall Term
The deadline to initiate fall term pre-registration is 5PM on Monday, June 18th. Once you have submitted your initial pre-registration, you may modify most subject selections until pre-registration closes at 5PM on Thursday, August 23rd. You will incur a late fee of $50 if you do not initiate your pre-registration by June 18th. There is an $85 late fee if you fail to pre-register by the August 23rd deadline.
If you are a graduate student taking thesis or research credit, you are still required to pre-register for the appropriate subject number; check with your department if you have questions.
If you plan to take a Communication Intensive in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences (CI-H and CI-HW) subject in the fall, you must submit pre-registration by June 18th to ensure your choices are included in the prioritized scheduling process for these subjects. Last fall, 90% of students got at least one of their CI-H/HW selections during scheduling. If you miss this deadline, you will not be able to request prioritized scheduling for CI-H/HW subjects and will only be able to place yourself on waitlists for these subjects. See CI-H/HW Enrollment Tools for detailed information: http://enrollmenttools.mit.edu/.
Online Subject Evaluation
Online Subject Evaluation (http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation) opens Monday, May 7 at 9AM and closes Monday, May 21 at 9AM. Please take a few minutes to complete your evaluations. This is an important way to help serve other students and offer your unique perspective.
