Dear Students,
Pre-registration for IAP and spring 2018 opens on WebSIS at 9am on December 1st. The URL for pre-registration is http://web.mit.edu/registrar/reg/prereg_info.html<http://web.mit.edu/registrar/reg/prereg_info_iap.html>. All continuing students are required to pre-register as one of the steps to maintain their student status. Information about the deadline is as follows:
IAP
If you plan on registering for IAP, you should pre-register by 5pm on Friday, January 12th. Changes after the close of pre-registration should be made using the online add/drop form (https://studentformsandpetitions.mit.edu/.
Spring Term
The deadline to initiate spring term pre-registration is 5pm on Thursday, December 28th. Once you have submitted your initial pre-registration you may modify your subject selections until pre-registration closes at 5pm on Thursday, January 18th. You will be assessed a late fee of $50 if you do not initiate your pre-registration by December 28th. There is an $85 late fee if you fail to pre-register by the January 18th deadline.
If you plan on adding a CI-H/HW subject while you pre-register:
* You may enter up to two primary subject choices with two alternatives for each choice. Before classes begin an algorithm will be run to assign students to CI-H/HW subjects, optimizing choices within the priorities set by SOCR
* You may also place yourself on waitlists that instructors use after Registration Day to fill openings in the classes. After the algorithm is run, you will be able to see which subjects have openings and where you stand on waitlists.
If you are a graduate student taking thesis or research credit you are still required to pre-register for the appropriate subject number; check with your department if you have questions.
Online Subject Evaluation
Online Subject Evaluation (http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation<http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation/>) opens Monday, December 4th at 9am and closes Monday, December 18th at 9am. Please take a few minutes to complete the evaluations. This is an important way you can help serve other students and offer your unique perspective.
