Come find out about iGEM! iGEM is an international competition in
synthetic biology, and the MIT team is looking for members! We're
looking for 10-12 motivated students to
    - choose an interesting problem (something YOU want to work on)
    - design the experiments to address the problem
    - build sophisticated DNA circuits and test them out
    - communicate your results to the world.

ALL YEARS AND MAJORS ARE WELCOME. Previous teams have included students from Courses 20, 6, 7, 10, 5, 18, 2, 8, and 4. No experience required!

Projects vary widely. Past few years:
    - 2017: Synthetic systems to control alternative splicing
    - 2016: Molecular diagnostic for endometriosis
    - 2015: Biomanufacturing and biofuels
    - 2014: A treatment for Alzheimer's disease

(find links to past teams' websites at http://igem.mit.edu)

Timeline:
    - IAP: 2-3 hrs/day, 2 weeks: intro to synthetic biology, learn about previous projects, choose your project
    - Spring: ~5 hours/week: continue to gain skills; begin building DNA
    - Summer: 10-12 weeks, full-time: the bulk of the iGEM experience.
    - Fall: Get ready for the iGEM Jamboree! Work on poster, talk, website.
