Recent graduate, Joey Azofiefa, founded a biotech company with faculty and bioscience partners he collaborated with during his time in the IQ Biology program.

"After graduate school, I've worked as a statistician and data-scientist contractor for multiple pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies. I use multi-omics data integration to predict phenotypes like drug sensitivity and disease prevalence from genetic factors like gene mutations, gene expression and epigenetic profiles. I've been fortunate to meet a lot of people plugged into the biotechnology start-up scene here in Boulder and in Cambridge, MA. With this in mind, my doctoral advisor, Robin Dowell<http://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001VXPStcU8Q13f1cN9kRKN4svLFYhkZIAQBr-EMtGCwDT62qmXLlecaWYpi-b5dDBxKt3I-9aDWQI9rUSUE0fwT4MQPj7-gaRttUH2kvpqxtytEf9InRcLh6QVT1fj__ppOUzSAIn_wtdzwQLlfaAVskpLWu8H_m5YuE5AkRJwPgR2NvjkOcgvxxjj3tGBUg1Xqf1K7iUw-00=&c=rmA6WowH84zw0TuwRpFsO5hkzMWkECx87tKNwhpV1nAPR6BpxYbiCQ==&ch=r8XspO4-RWPotdH-TZm7Y4hzz2Xi2yswEuaotxzHxs1_Diq8PauFng==>, a few other colleagues and I have started a company, Arpeggio Biosciences, largely founded on the theory I developed as a graduate student.
