The department is pleased to announce that the following students received Biology awards and recognition at the Undergraduate Dinner.  Congratulations to all!

Ching Pin Cheng - Salvador E. Luria Prize - For scholarship and research of publication quality in Prof. Peter Dedon’s and Prof. Paul Schimmel’s lab.

Celeste Dang - Ned Holt Prize - For demonstrated excellence in scholarship as well as service to the MIT community.

Rhogerry Deshycka - John L. Asinari Award - For outstanding research in the field of life sciences for work in Prof. Harvey Lodish’s lab.

Madeleine Duran -  Merck Prize - For outstanding research and academic performance in biophysical or bioinformatics science in Prof. Amy Keating’s lab.

Alissandra Hillis - Susan Hockfield Prize in Life Sciences - For a third-year MIT undergraduate student in any area of the life sciences who has demonstrated both exceptional performance and promise for graduate study and research. Alissandra worked in Prof. Matt Vander Heiden’s lab.

Bryce Hwang - Merck Prize - For outstanding research and academic performance in biophysical or bioinformatics science in Prof. Ernest Fraenkel’s lab.

Angela Koh - Gene Brown Prize - For outstanding academic scholarship,  and demonstrated excellence as a teaching assistant in 7.02

Elizabeth Li -  Ned Holt Prize - For demonstrated excellence in scholarship as well as service to the MIT community.

Ellena Popova - Gene Brown Prize - For outstanding academic scholarship,  and demonstrated excellence as a teaching assistant in 7.016

Rachel Terry - Whitehead Prize - For outstanding promise for a career in biological research through academic scholarship as well as contributions to research and the MIT community, for work in Prof. Angelika Amon's lab.

Chiara Waingarten - John L. Asinari Award - For outstanding research in the field of life sciences for work in Prof. Matt Vander Heiden's lab.
