Hi there,

I’m studying medicine at Harvard Medical School. After completing my PhD in biochemistry from MIT, I co-founded a diagnostics company and raised $10M.

Mental illness is the #1 cause of disability & lost productivity worldwide. A major reason for this is that it is hard to build profitable enterprises in mental healthcare. We need a protected space where the world’s best entrepreneurs can have the time and resources to build transformative products. We need mental healthcare products that are as transformative as Google, Facebook, and Uber.

I'm building a non-profit Y combinator (startup incubator) for mental healthcare. If you’re passionate about advancing mental healthcare, I’d love to meet you. In particular:
- Co-founders to help develop and lead this new mental health incubator
- Entrepreneurs, software developers, designers interested in starting new companies that impact mental healthcare

I grew up in Cupertino, CA and was raised by parents from Hong Kong and Burma (Myanmar). I love to cook and find delicious restaurants. When I hear good music I can’t stop myself from dancing 😜

I’ve had the privilege of taking care of family and friends who have struggled with mental illness. I’ve seen firsthand how it can ruin lives but with proper support, mental illness can be manageable and people can lead productive lives.

I co-directed a high school outreach program at Harvard Medical School called HPREP. We aim to recruit underserved and underrepresented high school students into science and medicine. https://hprep.wordpress.com/

After my PhD, we raised $10M to start a diagnostics company called Confer Health. We empower people to make health decisions with confidence by giving everyone access to clinical-grade testing at home. This is enabled by unique technology that is orders of magnitude more sensitive and more affordable than what’s available at hospitals or clinical labs. Our ambition is to usher in an era of proactive medicine so we can all get the care we need before it’s too costly or too late.
