Subject: Circulating our search for Biochemistry Teaching Assistant for Caribbean Summer Program
Seeking Teaching Assistant for Biochemistry for Caribbean Summer Program
The Student Program for Innovation in Science and Engineering (SPISE) is offered annually by the Caribbean Science Foundation (CSF) to the top Caribbean 16-17-year old high-school students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). A substantial fraction of SPISE graduates go on to attend MIT, Stanford, Harvard, Columbia, and other top universities. SPISE is modeled after the MITES program at MIT (also directed by Prof. Cardinal Warde of MIT), and uses the facilities of the Barbados campus of the University of the West Indies.SPISE 2017 runs from July 14-August 13, 2017.
SPISE is seeking undergraduates or post-grads for a Teaching Assistant (TA) position for biochemistry. The T.A. will work closely with biochemistry instructors (Dr. Tony Rossomando and Dr. Dinah Sah). Room and board plus an air fare allowance are included, and a modest stipend will be provided. A full description of SPISE and the TA application form can be found at http://caribbeanscience.org/projects/spise.php.<http://caribbeanscience.org/projects/spise.php> Please send an e-mail to Prof. Warde at warde[at]mit.edu if you have any questions or need info that is not provided at the Website.
The CSF is an independent, non-profit non-governmental organization (http://caribbeanscience.org). Its mission is to assist with the diversification of the economies of the Caribbean Region by harnessing science and technology for economic development, and to help raise the standard of living of Caribbean people.
