Want to spend spring break having fun and volunteering to meet local community needs? Join a group of MIT students traveling to various locations locally and regionally. Have fun, partner with fellow students, serve a community need, and contribute to the greater good for a week.

We’re now accepting group proposals for Alternative Spring Break. MIT student living groups, athletics teams, student organizations, and other small group cohorts of MIT students are welcome to apply. We will consider applications from pre-existing groups as well as new student-assembled groups. If you and your friends have a great proposal, we’d love to hear it. Successful ASB applications will receive partial funding for travel, site fees, and food and lodging.

Funded Public Service Fellowships for IAP 2017!

The Fellowships program supports MIT students working on capacity-building service projects. Students work with community-focused organizations including non-profits and social enterprises. These can include a student's own social enterprise. What can you do? Follow your passion and benefit a community in need! You can create your own project, continue work on an enterprise you already started, or intern with a service organization.

We welcome a wide range of service projects and support work in the US and abroad.
