Subject: Please help us publicize an all MIT community event.
Date: November 19, 2016 at 4:26:26 PM EST

Dear community,

We write to you in solidarity. Times are changing and we can no longer afford to sit back and watch the flow of hateful rhetoric and misinformation threaten not only our community, but the future of the world. The MIT community, which has long been viewed as a beacon of innovation, creativity, and progress, can and must stand up for our values.

Let’s take the first step towards change. Let’s rally to unite as MIT and show that we care. Let’s make our voice loud and clear – and we want you to join us.

On Monday, November 21, we will stand together to show the world that we care about those values, and the safety and prospects of our peers, of our students, of our community.
We write to you in encouragement - to welcome you to our peaceful, non-partisan Solidarity Rally, on Monday from 12:00 - 3:00 PM on Killian Court.

Purpose:

  *
To shine a light on what MIT stands for as an institution
  *
To reaffirm our shared values
  *
To be active against policies that make our community feel unsafe

On Monday, we will stand not in fear or in anger, but together in solidarity.

If you are interested in supporting your fellow students, please join our Facebook event<https://www.facebook.com/events/1309115709120443/> and share it with your friends!

The organizers behind this rally are student leaders representing a diverse set of groups and interests on campus. If you have concerns or questions please email solidaritymit at mit.edu<mailto:solidaritymit at mit.edu> and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible. In solidarity,
The Our Voice<http://mailman.mit.edu/mailman/listinfo/ourvoice> Team
