Dear MIT Career Bridge,

I went to update my registry of our internship on CareerBridge but I ran into problems.

In the meantime I wanted to send out this flyer as our application closes December 7. We will be interviewing candidates in January. We receive over 3000 applications and roughly 350 students and recent graduates will be selected for the ten-week paid summer 2017 HCC internship

There are 5 HCC regions in the country:
California (4 sub regions)
North Carolina
Washington, D.C.
New York/New Jersey
New England

Many thanks, Katy

Dear MIT Career Bridge,

I am the New England Program Manager for a 25 year old structured internship program called Health Career Connection (HCC)www.healthcareers.org<http://www.healthcareers.org/>. HCC is a wonderful program for talented undergraduate students who want to pursue careers in health care (heath policy, public health, healthcare administration, healthcare finance etc.). HCC recruits students from all over the country, almost all of whom are from underrepresented racial and ethnic groups. We have over 2300 HCC Alumni.

Our application process will end on February 8, 2016. We receive approximately 3000 applications and will place around 300 students for the summer of 2016. We accept applications from current college students and also students that will graduate in May 2016. Interviews for the New England area will be held the first week in March, 2016.

HCC interns are all paid and are required to work full-time over the summer for ten weeks. The start and end of the internship is somewhat flexible. Most of our interns started June 1 and end August 7 summer 2015 but a few students started earlier or later than June 1. Last year we placed HCC interns in local organizations including: hospitals, state government, community health centers, consulting companies and other community advocacy organizations. Each intern is required to go to 5 workshops and 2-3 sites visits over the course of the summer.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Many thanks, Katy
