Dear Biology Students,

Everyone must be busy with finals. However, please take some time and pre-register for summer 2016 and fall 2016-17 terms, if you have not already done so.

All continuing students must initiate pre-registration/ pre-register as one of the steps to maintain student status. For more details and instructions on pre-reg: http://web.mit.edu/registrar/reg/prereg.html

Please note the following deadlines:

  *   Summer 2016 Pre-register by 5pm on Tuesday, May 31st

  * Fall 2016-17 Initiate pre-registration by 5pm on Monday, June 13th -All continuing students must initiate their pre-registration-*$50 late fee if you do not initiate your pre-reg by this date

  * Fall 2016-17 CI-H and CI-HW (Communication Intensive in the Humanities, Arts, and Social Sciences Subjects) Pre-register by 5pm on Monday, June 13th-All students planning on taking a CI-H/HW must pre-register to ensure their choices are included in the prioritizing scheduling process- *If you do not pre-register, you will not be able to request prioritized scheduling for CI-H/HW subjects. In other words, you will be placed on waitlists for these subjects.

  * Fall 2016-17 pre-reg ends on Thursday, August 25th at 5pm *$85 late fee if you do not pre-register by this date

Online Subject Evaluation (http://web.mit.edu/subjectevaluation) closes Monday, May 16th at 9 am. Please take a few minutes to complete the evaluations. This is an important way you can help serve other students and offer your unique perspective.

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions. Have a wonderful day!

Best wishes,

Huayra

Important Message from the Registrar’s Office
Subject: CI-H/HW Subjects and Pre-Reg for Fall 2016

You need to pre-register for a Communication-Intensive HASS (CI-H/HW) subject by June 13th.
• Prior to the deadline, during pre-registration you can request to be scheduled for up to two CI-H/HW subjects and designate whether you want to be waitlisted in case you don't get in. You can also choose up to two alternatives for each subject.
• If you miss the June 13th deadline, you will no longer have the opportunity to be scheduled into CI-H/HW subjects. You may add yourself to subject waitlists and hope for offers of enrollment from instructors once classes begin, but you will be prioritized below those who were assigned to waitlists as a result of the scheduling process.
