Hello,
I am hoping you may be able to assist Community Wellness by spreading the word to help promote the Koru Mindfulness classes offered in April for students. We kindly ask that you pass along the email below to any interested student groups or listservs. Please reach out with any questions.
Thank you,
Caitlyn
As part of the Mind Hand Heart Initiative<http://mindhandheart.mit.edu/>, Community Wellness at MIT Medical is now offering Koru Mindfulness courses for students. Koru Mindfulness is an evidence-based curriculum specifically designed for teaching mindfulness meditation, and stress management to college students and other young adults. The classes are available to students at no charge.
Please encourage interested students to visit the link below for more information and to secure a spot in the April Koru classes –

This fall we piloted the Koru Basic Mindfulness program which was very well received by the who participated. Student feedback in their own words:
• “This class helped me learn to take time for myself every day, which is vital with our busy MIT schedules.”
• “Being in a class with other students was helpful - to hear how they responded to different practices and how they figured out ways to add mindfulness to their lives”
• “This is a course that all MIT students should experience early on in their college career!”
• “It really helped me understand my feelings better and helped me manage stress.”
• “The Koru course was really useful in helping me get back to a good schedule and provided me with a great tool to help me focus on what matters.”
• “I’ve never actually believed that meditation-yoga stuff can be useful - but some of the techniques from the course are actually helping me! I signed up when I found myself unable to cope with the stress and I’m so grateful I got to work with this group."
Please see the attached PDF for 1-page summary of research results measuring Koru Mindfulness effectiveness for college students and other emerging adults in the areas of stress management, improved sleep and greater emotional balance.
