My name is Aliya (’14 MIT Course 9) and I’m reaching out on behalf of Analysis Group, an economic consulting firm. We are in the process of recruiting Analyst Interns (job description below). The position would be a good fit for science/biology majors with quantitative or research experience who are looking to explore consulting. I’d love your help in encouraging students to apply – it would be great if you could circulate this opportunity to your students.
Company & Analyst Intern Description:
Analysis Group (AG) provides economic, financial and strategic counsel to corporations, law firms and government agencies. We work with top professors from leading institutions to create a bridge between current academic thinking and real business issues.
Analysis Group fosters a progressive and academically oriented work environment, with an emphasis on teamwork and collaboration across diverse areas of expertise. We seek candidates with an interest in applying quantitative methods to real-world research problems, strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to teamwork and collaborative problem solving, and aspiration for continuous learning and professional development.
This position is for candidates with research or quantitative business experience who are working towards a bachelor’s degree in computer science, economics, finance, statistics, or related subjects. Analyst Interns can expect to work on multiple projects at a time across multiple practice areas and industries.
During their summer at AG, candidates should be willing to:
• Analyze economic and financial data using spreadsheets and statistical programming (in SAS, STATA and other programs), including econometric estimation of models
• Examine market and industry behavior through targeted research
• Review and summarize analyst reports and client documents
• Participate in meetings with academic experts and case team members
• Assist in the preparation of expert reports and other client deliverables
To Apply:
To apply, please submit your resume, cover letter (including geographic preference: Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los Angeles, Menlo Park, New York, San Francisco or Washington D.C) and unofficial transcripts through the Career Services Department system and to the Analysis Group website via the link provided by Career Services by Feb. 3. On-campus first-round interviews will be on Feb. 9.
