Are you or your students looking for summer research or
post-baccalaureate programs? We have several programs that may be of
interest to you. The McDonnell Genome Institute at Washington University
in St. Louis is now accepting applications for our programs, Opportunities
in Genomics Research (OGR) (genome.wustl.edu<http://genome.wustl.edu/>). The OGR programs are
directed to increasing the number of underrepresented students who pursue
PhD in genomics and related fields.
We have two OGR mentored research programs: Undergraduate Scholars, an
eight-week summer program and Extensive Study, a one-year
post-baccalaureate program. Both programs include conducting mentored
research with premier investigators in genomics, genetics, and other
disciplines. Enrichment activities to develop graduate school skills
include GRE preparation, career counseling, and presentation and writing
workshops, and journal club. We provide a competitive
stipend/salary, housing (summer program only), and travel to St. Louis. To
apply to OGR Summer program: see attached application (the online version
will be available soon). The deadline is Feb. 5, 2016 To apply to OGR
post-baccalaureate program (Extensive Study) apply online at:
genome.wustl.edu/outreach<http://genome.wustl.edu/outreach>. The deadline is May 2, 2016
If you are interested in the MD or MD/PhD as your career and cancer
research, but want more research experience, we have another opportunity
for you. The SPORE grant at Washington University is seeking enthusiastic
and ambitious applicants for a potential post-baccalaureate position. The
applicant will work with the principal investigators to write a supplement
to the grant for this position. See the details in the flier attached. The
deadline to apply is Feb. 1, 2016
To learn more about our programs and see past participants, visit our
website at http://genome.wustl.edu/outreach. For all inquiries
regarding any of the above programs, please contact us at
