I am writing to tell you about D. E. Shaw Discovery Fellowship 2016<http://deshawdiscoveryfellowship.com/>, a unique educational opportunity taking place at our New York City headquarters from May 24 to 26. We believe you are well positioned to identify and suggest top candidates who might be interested in applying for this opportunity. Given the historical underrepresentation of women in the alternative investment industry, we have designed a program to bring together talented and intellectually curious women who have just completed their sophomore year of undergraduate studies (Class of 2018) at a U.S. college or university. These students will have the opportunity to apply their analytical skills in discussions with our investment professionals, attend lectures given by senior leaders and outside speakers, and interact with a cross-section of D. E. Shaw senior managers and employees, including Anne Dinning, a member of our Executive Committee. Participants will receive a $1,500 stipend, accommodations, and travel to and from New York City.
