Subject: FW: New IAP Course of interest to Biology Students
Date: December 1, 2016 at 3:38:58 PM EST
I will be teaching a new IAP course entitled, “From Fishfood to Microfluidics: The Amazing World of Microorganisms.” In this course we will analyze microscopic creatures commonly found in ponds (protozoa, rotifers, copepods etc) as if they were tiny robots. Students will learn how to use a microscope, identify microorganisms, make digital videos and use motion analysis software to measure velocities, trajectories and other aspects of their behavior. I think this course will be of great interest to Biology undergraduates. Especially those who are interested in the interface between engineering and biology. Please inform your students of this new IAP course and give them the link to the course web page:

Students should contact me directly to sign-up for the course and/or if they have any questions.
