A paid UROP job (this summer, starting in June) for cell culturing and experimentation
This is Lining Yao from MIT Media Lab. For a collaborative project between Media Lab and MIT Chemical Engineering department, we are looking into utilizing living cells as nanoactuators and engineering bio-hybrid films for art and design uses.

We are looking for a UROP who has worked in wet labs, and has previous experience culturing cells or at least dealing with living materials. Our basic job requirement is to culture two batches of cells every week (if your primary goal is to learn how to culture different cells and earn the salary with limited time). However, on top of the basic job of cell culturing, if you are also interested in devoting more time and learning the research/design/engineering side of the project, we have enough opportunities in digital printing of cells, cell forces and transformation, art and design concepts, and biofilm generation.

Please reach us at liningy at media.mit.edu<mailto:liningy at media.mit.edu>, with your resume and possible working hours per week, if you are interested.
