Media, Arts & Gaming Meet Up
Monday, March 30, 4:00-5:00pm
Join GECD for its first Boutique Media, Arts, and Gaming Meet Up, a casual and informational event for students to mingle with professionals from several national and local media, arts and gaming firms. Meet MIT alumni and other representatives from these companies, learn about their work, their culture, and about potential career paths. Some of the firms attending include The Walt Disney Studios, Electronic Arts, Comcast NBC Universal, The New York Times, Time Warner, Pixar, and ESPN. Light refreshments will be served. How to Work a Career Fair

Many students are overwhelmed when attempting to navigate a career fair with many employers. This workshop will provide tips and strategies on how be effective at the Spring Career Fair on April 3rd. You will learn what to do in preparation for the fair, what to do at the fair, and what to do after the fair. The fair is an excellent opportunity to connect with employers -- create a strategy that will help you in this competitive employment environment! GECD EXPRESS OPENS MONDAY, MARCH 30 ON MAIN CAMPUS
Global Education and Career Development (GECD) is opening a satellite office on Main Campus off the Infinite Corridor. GECD Express will be open Monday through Friday, 11 AM to 3 PM in Building 5, Room 118. Stop by during these hours for answers to quick questions about jobs and internships, planning your career, going abroad, and applying to medical and graduate school.

Global Education and Career Development is excited to announce the inaugural ‘Networking Evening with Employers’ event. This event is part of the annual Employer Symposium and it gives both students and employers the opportunity to exchange information about potential job and internship opportunities. Over 50 companies from a wide range of industries will be represented. See below for a list of participating organizations.
This event is open to all MIT students and Postdocs. Light refreshments and appetizers will be served.

How is this different from other career fairs at MIT?
* The MIT Spring Career Fair is the only fair organized and facilitated by Career Services.
* The Spring Career Fair Team strives to bring a wide range of employers who have opportunities and are seeking top candidates Across All Course Areas.
* If you can’t attend the fair in person, you can still drop your resume for inclusion in the MIT Spring Career Fair Resume Book.
* The Resume Book will be available to employers attending the fair, plus it is also available to many employers who could not participate in the fair. We always have strong demand for this book!
How do I register for the MIT Spring Career Fair?
Registration is NOW OPEN. Register at http://springcareerfair.mit.edu<http://springcareerfair.mit.edu/> . Your resume will be added to the Resume Book after you register. Register by March 31st to be included in the book. A list of participating employers can also be found on the Spring Career Fair site.
Who Should Attend?
All MIT students (Undergraduate, Masters, PhD) MIT Alumni and MIT Post-Docs are welcome to attend this event. MIT ID cards will be required to enter on the day of the fair.
This event is not open to the public.

LEARN HOW TO CREATE AND SUSTAIN SUCCESSFUL INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH COLLABORATIONS
Global Fellows Program, a Collaboration between MIT and Imperial College London
Now in its 5th year, the Global Fellows Program is open for applications!
MIT and Imperial College London are jointly offering an intensive 5-day Global Fellows Program for PhD students. 20 MIT PhD students will join 20 Imperial College PhD students for 5-days of presentations, interactive work, and hands-on activities.
Participants work in small groups with either an MIT or Imperial facilitator. Faculty members present on the topic of developing and managing international collaborations as an integral part of a research career. Program Dates: June 8-12, 2015
Time: 5 Days, Monday – Friday, residential, on location
• Participants commit to the entire 5 day residential program, including day and evening events

Location: Dover, Massachusetts
Cost: Fellowship covers cost of travel, program, and most meals
Content: Topics include:
• Building successful working relationships and global collaborations
• Team and project development
• Leadership
• Presentation skills
• Global intercultural skills and communication
Eligibility: Current MIT PhD Students. Preference is for students who have passed qualifying exams and have a year or more remaining before completing their PhD. However, all PhD students will be considered

Drop-ins are available to current MIT students and recent alumni (alumni who have graduated within the last 18 months). Drop-ins are 15-20 minute meetings with GECD staff members that don’t require an appointment. We can help you with quick career-related questions and the critique of resumes, and cover letters.
