Date: February 22, 2015 at 8:05:18 PM EST
To: Junction <junction at mit.edu<mailto:junction at mit.edu>>

Can you please forward the following paid summer mentoring opportunity to students?
-
Do you have too many academic passions to count?
Do you love to learn in an open-minded way with high-school students?
Are you ready to give seven creative students a mentoring experience they'll never forget this summer?

Apply to be a Junction 2015 mentor!
Select seven students to mentor based on independent study proposals they will design throughout the summer and will execute during the two weeks of Junction on the MIT campus (August 10-21).
Be on a close-knit team of six diverse mentors.
Guide your students as they...
write their first novel.
design a robot that plays soccer.
invent the next Facebook.
produce and record their first album.
investigate the mysteries of pure mathematics.

In addition to choosing seven students to mentor and helping them refine their independent study proposals, Junction mentors will also create and teach one-shot and 2-3 day college-level seminars on a variety of topics for the two weeks of Junction. Mentors will also get to know each other and bond as a close team: activities for mentors will include dinners, outings, and a weekend retreat in early May. Mentors will receive meals throughout Junction, T-Shirts, and a $1000 stipend.

How to Apply:
Applications are open at the following link: <https://esp.mit.edu/teach/Junction/index.html>.

Applications will close at 11:59 pm on March 9th, and we will extend interview invitations by March 15th. Job offers will be made by the end of March.

We look forward to reading your applications!
If you have questions of any kind you can reach us at junction at mit.edu<mailto:junction at mit.edu>.

Best,

Corinn and Sara
