The American Heart Association, Founders Affiliate Research Committee is offering an Undergraduate Student Summer Fellowship for the summer of 2016.  The application submission deadline is Monday, February 1, 2016 at 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.

Please be advised that students who apply for this program will need to secure the sponsorship of an established investigator engaged in appropriate cardiovascular and stroke research.

The award may be completed at any accredited research institution or laboratory within Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont.  Typically, labs are located in medical schools or major non-profit research institutions that conduct cardiovascular and/or cerebrovascular-related research.

Undergraduate Student Summer Fellowship Program
The purpose of this undergraduate summer research program is to encourage promising students from all disciplines, including women and members of minority groups underrepresented in the sciences, to consider research careers while supporting the highest quality scientific investigation broadly related to cardiovascular disease and stroke.

Application deadline:      Monday, February 1, 2016

Award Amount:                Student Stipend: $5,000

Award Duration:               The student is expected to devote full-time effort (40 hours per week) for a minimum of 10 weeks during the
                                         summer of 2016

Application forms must be completed and sent by email no later than Monday, February 1, 2016 at 5:00 pm Eastern Standard Time.
