Dear Dr Chang
Michael Bergren suggested I contact you about the Society for Redox Biology and Medicine. We have our 22nd annual conference in Boston in November (http://www.sfrbm.org/sections/annual-meeting/22nd-annual-meeting) and are inviting local undergraduates to attend and present a poster, if they wish. The benefits include:

1. Access to all scientific programming for a day (learn something new about redox biology and much more; see how latest research is communicated)
2. Opportunity to submit an abstract and present a poster presentation at an international conference (great for the CV!)
3. Lunch with SFRBM senior & junior investigators (networking opportunity)
4. Network with over 500 attendees from around the world (is this the career you want – does it inspire you?)

We want to inspire them to become scientific researchers! Applications are welcome from all students but particularly from students from backgrounds traditionally under-represented in the sciences.

There is a small charge to gain their ‘buy in’: $20 for the day or $30 to include membership of the Society for a year. However, this fee will be waived in cases of hardship, on request.
Places are limited so it will be ‘first come, first served’.

Please could you circulate this message or an extract to potential majors? Feel free to edit (particularly any odd British English – I am from the UK).

Best wishes
Karl Herbert, PhD
