In this talk, Dr. Tenley Albright will discuss her path from winning an Olympic Gold Medal to leading the new MIT Collaborative Initiatives. She will lead a discussion to engage students in an open-format about challenges in healthcare and how we can find approaches to tackle this issues effectively.


She is a faculty member of general surgery at Harvard Medical School, Director of MIT Collaborative Initiatives, and a board member of the Bloomberg Philanthropies and Research!America. She was appointed as a delegate to the World Health Assembly and served on the NIH Women's Health Initiative. Earlier, she was a Gold Medal Olympic Figure Skater.

The MIT Presidential Fellows/Sidney Pacific Distinguished Lecture Series hosts leading thinkers at Sidney Pacific Graduate Residence, MIT's largest graduate community. Lectures are open to the public and intended for a general MIT graduate student audience. There will be a lottery-based dinner with the speaker and hosted by the Associate Housemasters for up to 35 lecture attendees, immediately following the lecture.
