Peer Mock Interviews (Small Group)
Monday, Oct 20, 2:30-3:30pm
In this small group workshop, students will have a unique chance to practice and sharpen their interview skills. We will briefly review interviewing wisdom, discuss the art of giving and receiving feedback, then all participants will have a chance to answer questions and get feedback on their responses. Students who participate should first attend one of our in-person interviewing workshops or listen to our online workshop, Effective Interviewing, at http://gecd.mit.edu/workshop/interviewing/index.htm. Registration for this workshop will be open on Oct 6. Limited to 18. Drop-ins may be able to attend.

Princeton Review GRE Strategy Session

The Princeton Review, in conjunction with Global Education and Career Development, will host a free GRE Strategy Session. This event will demystify the GRE and its role in graduate school admissions, equip you with key tips and strategies for success on the exam (including how to beat the Verbal; common ETS traps on easy Math questions; and more), and introduce you to sample questions. Alex Ortiz, Territory Manager of Graduate Programs for The Princeton Review, will be on hand to answer your GRE questions and help you register for the optional, free practice test on October 26. Free Princeton Review swag will be given out and Graduate Admissions guides will be given away. Students will be contacted with the room number prior to the event. Open to all MIT students. Negotiating Job Offers

The Negotiating Job Offers workshop presented by Colin Smith will examine the many variables that exist during the evaluation and negotiation process of Job Offers. Knowing how, when and why you should negotiate will be reviewed. Salary vs. Total Compensation will be examined. Strategies on the negotiation process will be discussed along with “Should You Negotiate?” and "What Can" and "What Can Not" be negotiated. These strategies can be used throughout your career. Princeton Review GRE Practice Test

Did you know that GRE exam scores are good for five years? The Princeton Review, in conjunction with Global Education and Career Development, will be hosting a free, full-length, proctored GRE computer-based practice test. MIT students will receive an individualized Score Report detailing performance in the Writing, Verbal, and Quantitative areas of the exam.
