Dear Mr. Bergren,

I hope all has been well. I am reaching out on behalf of Harvard College's Undergraduate Research Association (HCURA)<http://www.hcura.org/>. Every year, HCURA runs a National Collegiate Research Conference (www.ncrc.hcura.org<http://www.ncrc.hcura.org/>) for undergraduates in January. Over the past four years, this conference has connected many avid undergraduate researchers and sparked many interesting conversations about how we might find more effective ways to form productive networks of college researchers across the US.

In the past few months, after being involved in conversations with students from the University of Texas, Yale University, and Stanford University who are working on setting up their own undergraduate research associations, we have decided to launch the first series Steering Committee Meetings for Undergraduate Research Leaders to take place alongside our national conference, January 22-24th, 2015. The purposes of these meetings are to:

  *   help each other create and/or improve undergraduate research associations on our respective campuses
  *   create an opportunity for undergraduates interested in research promotion to meet similar undergraduates from other universities
  *   discuss ways in which different campuses might collaborate on research-related events
  *   discuss goals and directions for the steering committee at the national level

We would like to invite 1-2 undergraduates from your university to participate. If you have students in mind who are motivated and interested in creating a research community on your campus, we would love to reach out to them. We would appreciate it very much if you could pass along this interest form, http://tinyurl.com/l9235g2, to these students. We will be accepting applications until December 15th, 2014 at 11:59 PM. These students would also be welcome to attend the events of our conference<http://ncrc.hcura.org/schedule2015/>. We would be happy to provide more details if you have further questions.
