Merrimack Pharmaceuticals Internship Position
Merrimack Pharmaceuticals is a biopharmaceutical company discovering, developing and preparing to commercialize innovative medicines paired with companion diagnostics for the treatment of serious diseases, with an initial focus on cancer. Merrimack applies Network Biology, its proprietary systems biology-based approach to biomedical research, throughout the research and development process. Merrimack currently has six targeted therapeutic oncology candidates in clinical development.
Internships at Merrimack are unique and comprehensive, and we view our interns as a vital part of our organization. We offer internships to students at all levels—whether they are pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD. Our interns come from a variety of majors from universities from around the world.
Position:
We are currently looking for a suitable candidate to fill a fulltime, paid intern position with a 1 year commitment starting summer 2014. This position is suitable for recent graduates (with Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree) who wish to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced pharmaceutical environment.
Responsibilities will include:
· Designing and executing experiments in a cancer-discovery project.
· Performing general lab duties and proficiently keeping lab records.
· Developing and performing novel assays.
· Analyzing data.
· Presenting research findings internally.
Full onsite training will be provided. Candidates with strong molecular and cellular biology training are encouraged to apply.
Most of all, we are interested in passionate individuals who are highly motivated, organized, and have strong analytical and interpersonal skills. Candidates should be enthusiastic about developing new ideas and techniques, and can contribute to the Merrimack Pharmaceuticals team.
