Dear undergrads ----
Please consider nominating a faculty member for the MacVicar Faculty award and sending short paragraph to me summarizing why a professor should be nominated, along with an offer to write a longer supporting letter. We appreciate your feedback!

Hello,
I am writing to share with you the Provost's call for nominations for MacVicar Faculty Fellows and to ask for your help in increasing undergraduates' involvement in the nomination process.
The MacVicar Faculty Fellowships are MIT's most prestigious award for faculty who are outstanding teachers of undergraduates. Fellows are expected to excel not only in the classroom but also outside, for instance, in developing subjects and in mentoring and advising students.
As a leader of a student academic activity, you can help us by distributing the call to members of your group and encouraging them to share suggestions for nominees with the faculty member's department(s). Student input can serve as an impetus for a nomination, and letters from undergraduates are a required part of the nomination materials.
Undergraduates should contact departmental headquarters or faculty undergraduate officers to suggest nominees. One way to do so would be to e-mail a short paragraph summarizing why a professor should be nominated with an offer to write a longer supporting letter. Nomination letters should not only be enthusiastic, but also contain specific details describing the nominee's qualifications.
Faculty who are already MacVicar Fellows are listed on the program website, http://web.mit.edu/macvicar
Who else should be recognized as one of MIT's very best teachers? Please let their home departments know.
Best wishes,
Diana Henderson
Professor of Literature
MacVicar Faculty Fellow
