> OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY
> To head small-to-medium scale independent experimental project under the direct supervision of the Principal Investigator, in addition to performing general laboratory tasks, such as molecular cloning, maintaining cell lines, and managing the mouse colony.

> CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES
> • In consultation with the Principal Investigator or other project manager, designs and conducts bench level experiments and manages an independent research project. Experimental work will include operating a two-photon microscope and conducting intravital imaging experiments in live mice.
> • Independently operates and maintains lab equipment and prepares and orders necessary supply stocks. May work with vendors to address equipment, reagent, or supply issues.
> • Performs analysis of experimental results, including cell tracking using imaging analysis software.
> • Documents, compiles, and assists in interpreting experimental data. Reports data to supervisor.
> • May assist other laboratory members with their research projects as needed.
> • May consult scientific literature as needed.
> • Other tasks as required or assigned.

> QUALIFICATIONS
> • Bachelor's degree in biology or bioengineering. Must have 1-2 years of experience working in a biology research laboratory (UROP).
> • Willingness to work with mice, including performing surgical procedures.
> • Proficience in basic lab techniques and principles of molecular biology required.
> • Excellent written and oral communication skills, strong organizational skills required.
