The Biology Undergraduate Student Association (BUSA<http://mit.edu/busa/>) presents its annual Howard Hughes Medical Institute Lecture with Dr. Carol Greider<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8a0Qy-B9VzM>, Daniel Nathans Professor & Director Molecular Biology & Genetics at John Hopkins University.
Dr. Greider pioneered research on the structure of telomeres, and she was awarded the 2009 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine, along with Elizabeth Blackburn and Jack Szostack for their discovery that telomeres are protected from progressive shortening by the enzyme telomerase
