Hey Team HBV!
Hope you've had a wonderful break and are looking forward to spring semester. We have several exciting projects planned for the term; here are first two opportunities that may be of interest to you.
1) Team HBV is collaborating with the Hepatitis B Initiative (HBI), which will be hosting free hepatitis B screening clinics in Chinatown. HBI is providing phlebotomy training, so that volunteers can be trained to draw blood at theses clinics. Please email jenniferchen at college.harvard.edu<mailto:jenniferchen at college.harvard.edu> by tomorrow (Thursday, Jan. 17) night if you are interested in getting trained.
2) HBI is a part of Massachusetts Asian Pacific Islanders (MAP) for Health, which is interested in developing a cross-cultural competency training curriculum for physicians. They are looking for an intern to spearhead this project; please see the attached job description for more details. If you decide to apply, please indicate that you received the job description over the Harvard Team HBV volunteers list. Applications will be accepted until Monday, January 28, 2013.
Otherwise, stay tuned for upcoming festivals (where we can make balloon animals!), teaching opportunities, and more!
Best,
Jennifer
