Think you could create an awesome summer course for advanced high school students? Then apply to teach for Junction 2014!

Junction is a project of the Educational Studies Program (ESP), an MIT student group that connects undergraduate and graduate students who want to teach to middle school and high school students who want to learn. Junction, which is geared towards motivated high schoolers, runs four nights per week for six weeks during the summer, July 7th to August 14th.

Junction hires two types of teachers: core teachers and seminar teachers. Currently we are accepting applications for core teachers; seminar teachers will be recruited later in January. Core teaching is a really awesome project: your chance to *design your own* academic course on anything that you find exciting. Example classes include:

* Astrophysics
* Infectious Disease and Immunology
* Fiction Writing
* Energy Policy
* Applied Organic Chemistry
* Computer Game Design

Core teachers are paid a stipend of $1650, and are provided a generous budget to fund exciting labs and other class activities. Note that core teachers may also be eligible to apply for additional Junction positions (such as seminar teaching), which carry their own stipends.

The application is due on January 30. To learn more or to apply, visit http://esp.mit.edu/teach/Junction/index.html. Please e-mail junction at mit.edu<mailto:junction at mit.edu> if you are interested or if you have any questions.
