Subject: Fwd: Exciting seminar elective for Fall 2013
Hello All,
As you choose courses for the Fall 2013 semester, consider registering for 7.342 - "Cell-material Crosstalk: Engineering Cell-Instructive Biomaterials". This advanced undergraduate seminar course will discuss exciting research focused on engineering the cell-biomaterial interface to study cellular systems and generate novel therapeutics. We have lined up a number of interesting topics for the course, including controlling cell morphology and organs-on-a-chip.
This course is intended to introduce advanced undergraduates to the primary scientific literature and the process of reading research publications. The format of the course will entail pre-class reading of 2 papers and then in-class discussion of these papers. The course is also 6 credits, PASS/FAIL, meets just once a week (Wednesdays 11-1pm; class time is flexible), and does not have any exams.
Please see attached course summary and this year's syllabus. There's a cap on the number of students for the course, so register today and don't miss out! Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.
Best regards,
Danya Lavin and Matt Webber
