Are you an athlete?

Have you ever played a contact sport?

If so, then it's likely that you or someone you know has suffered brain trauma at some point in their lifetime. Recent medical research shows that brain trauma can lead to Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, a progressive degenerative disease associated with memory loss, impulse control problems, aggression, depression, and progressive dementia.

MIT BrainTrust Presents...

Brain Trauma in Sports: Impact, Prevention, and Treatment
Thursday, May 10
7:30pm–9pm
Room 1-190

BrainTrust is hosting a talk on brain trauma in sports which includes speakers Alex Bagley and Dan Daneshvar from the Sports Legacy Institute, an organization dedicated to solving the public health crisis caused by brain trauma in sports through medical research, education, treatment, and prevention. Danielle Morgan-Stevenson, a speech therapist at Spaulding Rehabilitation Center, will also be speaking about her experience with cognitive rehabilitation for post-concussion syndrome in athletes.
