The Biology Undergraduate Student Association (BUSA) presents its annual Howard Hughes Medical Institute lecture with Dr. Brian Druker,<http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/health/services/cancer/about-us/druker/profile.cfm> Director of the Oregon Health & Science University Knight Cancer Institute, Associate Dean for Oncology, JELD-WEN Chair of leukemia research, and an investigator at the HHMI. Dr. Druker's laboratory was instrumental in the development of Gleevec (imatinib<http://www.cancer.gov/newscenter/qa/2001/gleevecqa>), a drug that targets the molecular defect in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML).
