[bioundgrd] Invitation to Apply for Opportunity to spend Spring Break 2012 at Sabaci University, Istanbul Turkey with Dean Hastings

Dear Students,

Because of your exceptional performance in Introductory Biology (7.012/7.013/7/014), we would like to invite you to apply for a spot in the MIT-Sabaci University Freshman Scholars Program of Mutual Educational and Cultural Visits during Spring Break 2012.

Through this opportunity, eight undergraduate students will to travel to Istanbul, Turkey with Dean Dan Hastings  for a week-long visit at Sabaci University<http://www.sabanciuniv.edu/eng/anasayfa/anasayfa.php>. During your stay, you will sit in on classes at Sabaci University, participate in SU campus activities, and explore the many cultural sites throughout this timeless city.  At the end of the program, participants will be named "MIT-SU Freshman Scholars" and handed a certificate signed jointly by Dean Hastings and the President of Sabaci University.  The costs of the visit are fully funded by Sabaci University including travel, food, and lodging.  Please see the attachment for more details.

Regarding the final selection process, two students, currently with sophomore status, who took Introductory Biology will be among the eight chosen.

If you are interested in applying, please provide a resume and a brief, one-paragraph Statement of Interest to the Biology Education Office by Tuesday, January 17th.   Let me know if you have any questions.
