For the past eighteen years, the annual Boston Bacterial Meeting (BBM) has brought together microbiologists from both academic and industrial settings in the Boston area and beyond. Welcoming all types of research in bacteriology, last year's BBM was attended by almost 450 researchers from over 100 academic labs and biotech companies.
BBM2012 will take place on Thursday, June 7th, and Friday, June 8th at the Harvard University Science Center in Cambridge, MA. Our keynote speaker is Richard Lenski, Hannah Distinguished Professor of Microbial Ecology at Michigan State University. Prof. Lenski is one of the most prominent researchers of experimental evolution in the world, as exemplified by his well-known Long-Term Evolution Experiment, wherein twelve independent populations of E. coli have been tracked through more than 50,000 generations.
We welcome abstract submissions for talks from undergraduate students, graduate students, and post-docs from labs doing any type of bacteriology research. We hope that you can join us for this exciting cross-section of Boston's bacteriology community,
