Job Description

Position as a research specialist in the lab of the Director of the Retina
Institute, in the Vision Center at Children's Hospital. The focus of the
laboratory is Retinoblastoma, a disease affecting 300 children in the US
each year. Children's Hospital LA received around 50 of these patients,
which allows for a large impact in this field. Retinoblastoma is an
important disease to study because the Rb gene which causes the disease is
mutated in almost half of all cancers.

The position is in a smaller lab which allows for almost complete autonomy.
All levels welcome to apply.
Company Description

Children's Hospital Los Angeles is a nonprofit, academic, pediatric medical
center. We provide the highest quality healthcare for children who are the
sickest and most seriously injured in our region and beyond.

Each year, we treat more than 93,000 children who need care that is so
complex, it can only be provided by medical experts. We provide care in more
than 100 medical specialty and subspecialty areas. We are a research
hospital and believe that it is through research that we can improve the
delivery of care to the children of the future.
