The MIT Biology Undergraduate Student Association Presents:
Lunch with Dr. Hermann Steller
Dr. Hermann Steller is the Strang Professor and the Head of the Apoptosis
and Cancer Biology Laboratory at Rockefeller University. Dr. Steller was
formerly Professor of Biology and Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT from
1987-2000 before moving to Rockefeller University. Dr. Steller has
discovered several fundamental genes involved in apoptosis and his work has
linked apoptosis to cancer and other diseases.
On Tuesday, October 21, Dr. Steller will be delivering the Biology
Department's annual Holt Lecture at 4:00 in 32-123 titled "Deaty by
Degradation: Regulation of Apoptosis and Tumor Suppression by the
Ubiquitin-Proteasome System".
BUSA is organizing a lunch for undergrads prior to the lecture in 68-180 on
Tuesday, October 21st from 12-1 with Dr. Hermann Steller. Undergrads from
all departments welcome.
Bertucci's pizza and Italian desserts will be served.
