Do you like teaching?
Do you like working with high school students?
Do you remember taking your AP classes and thinking you could've
taught it better?
Do you want to make a difference?
If so, you should come teach for DELVE!
Delve is a program run through the Educational Studies Program. We
reach out to the greater Boston high school community and offer
students a chance to take an AP course their school just may not
offer. In the past years we have offered AP Chemistry, Calculus,
Computer Science, Biology, Physics, Economics, Literature and Art
History. Teaching for Delve is a great opportunity to get involved
with the community and pass on what you know to students in the way
you think is best.
You may teach any of the AP classes CollegeBoard offers! You will
have the opportunity to design your own syllabus and select your own
textbook. We REQUIRE that you sign up with a co-teacher who will be
also be equally responsible for your course; though how you split up
the teaching time is up to you. If you don't have a co-teacher, but
are still interested in teaching, email us and we'll see if we can
match you up with someone.
We would love to have you teach! As you consider, please keep in mind
you will be tied up for 30 Sundays, from 1:30 to 5 pm, from early
September until the APs in the beginning of May (no class over
Thanksgiving or winter break). This is an important responsibility
and a full-year commitment is required - which means you can't drop
out in the middle of the year. Although teaching for Delve is a big
commitment, it is also extremely fun and a wonderful experience.
Deadline for Delve:
by July 27:
o Contact delve at mit.edu to set up an on-campus or phone-interview
o Email delve at mit.edu with a letter of recommendation from a
professor, colleague, or friend that answers the question:
What qualities does this person possess that qualifies him or her to
be responsible and take on the demands of teaching an AP curriculum?
We hope you will teach for us! Feel free to contact us at
