Research Technician - Molecular Biology of Human Cancer
Gaston laboratory
Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (Department of Surgery)

We are looking for a recent graduate in biology or biomedical
engineering to join a collaborative project focused on the
development of novel technologies for the discovery and ultimate
clinical application of molecular tumor markers in human tissues (for
an example, please see Gaston et al Nature Medicine 2005;11:95-101).
This research effort involves both molecular biology and
bioengineering components and a candidate with an active interest in
both areas would be welcome. The ideal candidate would be someone
with either project lab or UROP experience in a molecular biology
laboratory and a strong interest in biomedical research. Strong
organizational skills and good communication are important for this
position, which involves interactions with both researchers and
clinicians. In addition to laboratory work, the students and
technicians who are working on this project regularly attend research
and clinical conferences at BIDMC. This is an ideal opportunity for
someone who is considering medical school or graduate school and
wants to start to build a professional resume.
