MIT RESEARCH TECHNICIAN (OCEAN CYANOBACTERIA AND THEIR VIRUSES).

The Chisholm Laboratory at MIT is seeking a 
full-time, entry level Research Technician to 
participate in research involving oceanic 
cyanobacteria and their associated viruses 
(bacteriophage). The position requires a 
Bachelorís degree in a biological science and 
strong knowledge of microbiology and molecular 
biology.  Applicants should be familiar with 
associated laboratory skills including DNA 
extraction, PCR, gel electrophoresis, cloning and 
sequencing, and must have excellent sterile 
technique. Experience with growing phage is a 
plus. Duties include growing and titering 
cyanobacteria and cyanophage, generating 
high-titer phage stocks, extracting phage DNA, 
and generating phage DNA libraries for
