Dear Faculty, Staff & Students,

Due to a recent rash of thefts and attempted break-ins throughout 
Building 68, we have decided to keep certain doors in 68 locked at 
all times.  Starting later today, you will need to use your MIT id 
and the card reader to enter the third floor of 68 from the bridge. 
You will still be able to exit 68 to the bridge without your MIT id. 
You will also need your MIT id to enter 68 through the stairwells at 
the South end of the building,

Locking these doors will not affect your ability to evacuate the 
building in case of an emergency.

We appreciate that locking the doors may be an inconvenience, 
however, we are doing this for security purposes.  If you have any 
questions or concerns, please not hesitate to contact me.
