You probably are familiar with the laptop registration program run by
MIT Campus Police, through which your machine is tagged and
registered. The STOP tag is a visual theft deterrent - a metal tag is
attached to the top of your computer which takes up to 800 psi to
remove. If it is removed a tattoo is left behind stating the machine
is stolen property.

We will be having a special session for laptop registration for
Building 68 users on Wed. July 21st, 10 a.m. in 68-121.

If you're interested in registering your laptop, LCD, or other
portable machine, please email
<mailto:biocomp at mit.edu>biocomp at mit.edu to let me know. Payment is
$10 cash or a departmental requisition made payable to IS.

Regards,
Gurukarm
