Lab technician  position available for a gradating senior in a 
Massachusetts General Hospital in a molecular imaging laboratory. We 
are interested in hiring a technician for at least 1 year. 
Responsibilities are largely working with tissue culture and mice. 
Interested students graduating this year are encouraged to respond to 
either the PI (Vasilis Ntziachristos, email address in attachment) or 
to myself (research fellow in the lab who will do most of the

Requirements: We seek a highly motivated individual with a strong 
interest in academic research. Applicants should demonstrate superior 
people skills, team spirit, reliability, and the ability to work 
independently. Cell culture experience is desired. Will be expected 
to work with mice, fluorescence imaging, and histology; prior 
experience useful but not essential. Computer experience useful but 
can be taught. Commitment of minimum one year. 2004 college graduates 
in biology, biophysics, and biomedical engineering are highly 
encouraged to apply. Ideal for premedical or pregraduate training. 
Assignments can evolve to independent research projects.

Responsibilities: The technician will work with a team that is 
actively designing and developing a variety of novel fluorescence 
molecular imaging systems and methods. He/she will be involved in 
creating implanted tumor models in mice and subsequent medical 
imaging of mice. Responsibilities will also involve managing and 
breeding a growing population of transgenic mice for imaging purposes 
and histological studies for in-vitro correlation. Will be expected 
to participate in basic data analysis and report writing.
