Good morning everyone!
As some of you may remember, a while back (in the pre-COVID era…) we used to get together under the “Boston Area Exoplanet Science Meeting” (BAESM).
Since, Robin (cc’ed) and I got together with the desire of starting something small, low-key (ie., manageable and sustainable) and last year we ran two editions of an “MIT/Harvard” (exo)planetary science meeting. The first edition in Jan focused on exoplanetary sciences and brought ~40 people together. We broadened the scope to planetary sciences for the second edition in June and brought together close to twice that (still easily manageable).
As we look towards the third edition, we’re now hoping to bring together the whole (greater) Boston area. Hence this email outreach!
We will be meeting on MIT Campus on Sept 13th. Our intent is simply to get people together, create the relationships that many (in particular students) seek, and brainstorm/cross-pollinate/collaborate.
If you and/or any of your group members are interested, please register at the following link:

For those interested in giving a talk to support this community-building event, please submit your title/abstract for a brief talk at: https://forms.gle/YGSfeNqhzVSSDkfdA
(Note: we will make sure to allocate two breakout sessions to support people collaborating on JWST proposals---Cycle 4 deadline: Oct 16th!)
Thanks in advance,
And hoping to see many of you in person in a couple of weeks,
Julien and Robin
