Name of Event: Space Optics: Ultra-lightweight Silicon Carbide Structures and
Deformable Mirror Technologies at AOA Xinetics

Date and Time: 2013-12-10 12:00:00 to 2013-12-10 13:00:00

Location:
MIT 33-116
-----------------------------------------------
Event Description:
For nearly 40 years, Adaptive Optics Associates Xinetics (AOX) has been
involved in the development of technologies and components for the precision
control of light and optics. A pioneer in the field of real time Adaptive
Optics (AO), AOX has been involved in virtually all major AO projects for
both defense and astronomical applications. AOX is also at the leading edge
in the creation of ultra-lightweight active SiC optics and structures for
space optical systems. This talk will highlight some of the latest
developments in these technologies with a particular emphasis on the various
families of deformable mirror components and their capabilities.

Speakers: Dr. Allan Wirth / Mr. Jeffrey Cavaco
