Dear Student Group Leaders,

Please take note of the following announcements:

(1) CPW Midway Assignments and Waitlist
(2) Group Recognition Deadline (4/15/2014)
(3) LEF/ARCADE Decisions

---------------------------------------

(1) CPW Midway Assignments and Waitlist

CPW Midway assignments have been emailed out to each group allocated a
table. A map and a full list of allocations can be found here:
If you would like to sign up for the waitlist for a booth, you can do
so by filling out the form here: <http://tinyurl.com/midwait-cpw14>.

The Midway will take place from 1-3pm this Saturday, April 12, at
Johnson Ice Rink. You may arrive to set up beginning at 12pm, and you
must check in by 12:40, or your table may be re-allocated to a group
on the waitlist. We will start re-allocating booths promptly at 12:40,
so please be on time.

If your group can no longer attend or perform at the Midway, please
let us know via email at <asa-midway at mit.edu> at least 24 hours in
advance. Failure to cancel prior to 24 hours will result in a $25
fine; failure to cancel by the start of check-in will result in a $75
fine. Groups that leave before the conclusion of the Midway without
permission from the ASA will incur the same $75 fine.

Please remember that no external speakers may be used at the booths.
The ASA board reserves the right to request that volume be reduced or
sound turned off if it becomes a problem for neighboring groups or
performances. For fire safety reasons, please remember to stay at or
by your booth at all times (within arms reach). Do not block any
entrances or aisles or hand out flyers at the doorway. Violations of
these rules may be cause for a fine of up to $75, depending on the
infraction.

In addition, if your group is bringing large items, doing
demonstrations, or using electricity for anything other than laptops
or other displays, make sure you review the safety guidelines at
<https://ehs.mit.edu/site/content/types-events-activities-need-safety-plan>,
and, if necessary, send a description of your activity to
<safe-project at mit.edu> so they can suggest tips to improve safety.

(2) Group Recognition Deadline (4/15/2014)

The next group recognition cycle is April 15, 2014 at 11:59PM EDT.
Those who are interested in applying for a new student group should
apply at <http://web.mit.edu/asa/start/index.html>.

If you have any questions, please contact <asa-groups at mit.edu>.

---------------------------------------

(3) LEF/ARCADE Decisions

As we finalize the Spring 2014 LEF/ARCADE allocation cycle, remember
that all information -- including the results of late applications and
appeals -- will be posted on
<http://mit.edu/asa/resources/large-events.html>. We expect this
cycle's allocations to be finalized and posted by Wednesday April 9th.
If you have any questions, please contact <asa-treasurer at mit.edu>.
Contracts will be ready to fill out by the end of Wednesday, April
9th.

In addition, because of the transition of officers in the Student
Activities Office, no transfers as of February 24th have been made.
Please be assured that transfer reports have been sent for all groups
who have sent in post-event reports, but if you do have remaining
questions or concerns, please email <asa-treasurer at mit.edu>.

---------------------------------------

Please feel free to email <asa-exec at mit.edu> with any requests,
questions, or other inquiries.

Sincerely,

The ASA Executive Board
