*Dear Student Group Leaders,

Please take note of the following announcements:

(1) Private Bulletin Board Application and Allocation Process
(2) Group Recognition Spring Cycle Deadline 2/15/13
(3) Required Treasurer’s Trainings
(4) Infinite Corridor Display Opportunities

---------------------------------------

(1) Private Bulletin Board Application and Allocation Process

Decisions on bulletin board applications have been emailed out to all
groups that applied. Appeals to decisions may be made by January 25, 2013
at 11:59PM EST by email asa-boards at mit.edu with your defence for
reclassification.

Other groups that missed the initial deadline may apply for space by
January 20, 2013 at 11:59PM EST at:
https://asa.scripts.mit.edu:444/applications/boards/boards.php. Note that
funded groups are given higher priority in receiving bulletin board
allocations.

If you have any questions, please contact asa-boards at mit.edu.

---------------------------------------

(2) Group Recognition Spring Cycle Deadline 2/15/13

The next group recognition cycle is February 15, 2013 at 11:59PM EST. Those
who are interested in applying for a new student group should apply at
http://web.mit.edu/asa/start/index.html.

If you have any questions, please contact asa-groups at mit.edu.

---------------------------------------

(3) Required Treasurer’s Training

SAO Financial Signatory Training is strongly recommended for financial
signatories for all groups. Furthermore, groups that apply for funding
from the UA or GSC funding board must have at least their
President or Treasurer attend an SAO Financial Signatory Training.

During the first few weeks of February, the Student Activities Office will
be providing financial trainings for signatories of student groups. As the
financial processes at MIT can be complicated, it is essential that at
least one representative (e.g., your Treasurer) be knowledgeable of this
process. Therefore, we STRONGLY RECOMMEND attendance at one of the upcoming
financial training sessions. Please visit the SAO website (
http://studentlife.mit.edu/sao/finance/training) for additional information.

The trainings are from 6-7pm on February 12, 14, 20, and 21, 2013 in 3-133.

For any questions, please contact Colin Codner (cmcodner at mit.edu) in the
Student Activities Office.

(4) Infinite Corridor Display Opportunities

As part of the recent Infinite Corridor renovations and removal of display
easels from public pedestrian pathways on campus, there are now fixed
poster displays along this corridor. Groups may reserve a pair (east and
west, each marked accordingly) of these display units for a maximum of 7
days per event. There are six opportunities in each direction along the
Infinite Corridor for these poster displays.

Reservations are available immediately and will be managed on a first-come,
first-serve basis. A review will be conducted at the conclusion of the
Spring 2013 semester to determine if this system is working with regard to
all who request poster positions as we strive to create broad access across
the campus for these displays as needed.

Please contact Gayle Gallagher (gayle at mit.edu) for more information,
including an application.

---------------------------------------

Please feel free to email asa-exec at mit.edu with any requests, questions, or
other inquiries.

Sincerely,
The ASA Executive Board
