(1) CPW Midway Assignments

CPW Midway assignments have been emailed out to each group. A map and a
full list of allocations, including a performance schedule, can be found
here: <https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/22570549/asa_midway.pdf>. If you
would like to sign up for the waitlist for a booth, you can do so by
filling out the form here: <
https://asa.scripts.mit.edu/applications/midway/cpw-midway.php>.

The Midway will take place from 1-3pm this Saturday, April 13, at Johnson
Ice Rink. You may arrive to set up beginning at 12pm (note that this is a
correction from 1pm which was erroneously sent on some e-mails), and you
must check in by 12:40, or your table may be re-allocated to a group on the
waitlist. <https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22570549/asa_booth_assign_2013.pdf>

If your group can no longer attend or perform at the Midway, please let us
know via email at <asa-midway at mit.edu> at least 24 hours in advance.
Failure to cancel prior to 24 hours will result in a $25 fine; failure to
cancel by the start of check-in will result in a $75 fine. Groups that
leave before the conclusion of the Midway without permission from the ASA
will incur the same $75 fine.

Please remember that no external speakers may be used at the booths. The
ASA board reserves the right to request that volume be reduced or sound
turned off if it becomes a problem for neighboring groups or performances.
For fire safety reasons, please remember to stay at or by your booth at all
times. Do not block any entrances or aisles or hand out flyers at the
doorway. Violations of these rules may be cause for a fine of up to $75,
depending on the infraction.

(2) Important RFP Update

Effectively immediately, all RFP's will be sent to "Student Activities
Office" (see image below) instead of a particular member of the SAO staff
(Catherine Hursh or Katrina Hill, for example). The RFP will be
automatically routed to the appropriate SAO staff member. This will help
mitigate delays during times of staff absence or transition. Please reach
out to funds at mit.edu with any questions concerning this transition.

(3) Group Recognition Cycle Deadline (April 15, 2013)

The next group recognition cycle deadline is Monday, April 15, 2013 at
11:59PM Eastern. Those who are interested in applying for a new student
group should apply at
<http://web.mit.edu/asa/start/index.html><http://web.mit.edu/asa/start/index.html>
.

If you have any questions, please contact <asa-groups at mit.edu>.

(4) Underutilized CAC Space

Looking for a space for you next event? Consider these underutilized
spaces in Walker Memorial (Building 50): Pritchett and Conference Room A.
Pritchett is located on the 2nd floor and is a multi-use "L" shaped space
for groups from 36 to 100 people, depending on setup style. The space can
be used for meetings, workshops, receptions, breakfasts, lunches, dinners,
and small celebrations. Furniture setups use existing, limited furniture
in the room. Additional furniture needs will require rentals. Conference
Room A is located in the basement and seats 12 people around a large
tables. The room also has two whiteboards, a sink with counter space,
windows, and telephone jack.

(5) Poster and Chalking Rules

With the arrival of spring, make sure to follow the poster and chalking
rules. Not sure what they are? See
http://web.mit.edu/asa/publicity/public-advertising-space.html.

---------------------------------------

Please feel free to email <asa-exec at mit.edu> with any requests, questions,
or other inquiries.

Sincerely,

The ASA Executive Board
