----------------------------------
1. CPW Activities Midway request form available -- due Thursday, 4/12
The ASA Activities Midway for CPW 2012 will be held on Saturday, April
21st, from 1-3pm in the Johnson Athletics Center. The Activities Midway
is a great way to meet prefrosh and show off the breadth and depth of
student groups at MIT.
Please submit your requests promptly. We may be unable to grant late
requests, particularly ones for performances or for booths with specific
location or neighbor preferences. Groups that apply for a booth or
performance slot and do not show up without letting us know in advance
will be fined.
More information and the request form for table space and performance
times are at: http://mit.edu/asa/publicity/midway.html
Requests are due by Thursday, April 12th, at 11:59pm.
----------------------------------
2. Display easels no longer permitted on the Infinite Corridor
Due to traffic and safety concerns, display easels are no longer
permitted on the Infinite Corridor. The text of the announcement from
Prof. Martin Schmidt, Associate Provost for Space Planning, about this
change is posted at: http://mit.edu/asa/docs/easel-memo.txt
The ASA Board will continue to work the Provost's Office and other
involved offices on additional advertising opportunities for students
groups, particularly in terms of electronic displays.

3. Reminder of ASA Advertising Policies
Groups that advertise on the ASA's public bulletin boards throughout
campus should keep in mind the ASA's policies on public postering:
http://web.mit.edu/asa/publicity/public-advertising-space.html
In particular:
- Poster only in designated spaces (i.e. only on public bulletin boards,
not walls, doors, or windows).
- Include the date and contact information for the sponsoring group.
- Only one poster per event is allowed per board.
- No more than 22" x 17" (the equivalent of four standard sheets of paper)
of poster per group (even if it is for different events) is allowed per
board.
- Posters must be flat.
- You may poster over repeated or past-date fliers and, if the boards are
full, over non-MIT fliers, but NEVER tear down other posters.
With regards to chalking, the following restrictions apply:
- Chalking may be done on walkways and paths, but not vertical surfaces.
- No chalking is allowed on any part of the stairs to Lobby 7 or the
Student Center.
- Only washable chalk may be used.
----------------------------------
Please feel free to email asa-exec at mit.edu with any requests, questions,
or other inquiries.
Sincerely,
The ASA Executive Board
